It is recommended that a Medical Review Officer (MRO) is an MD or doctor of osteopathy who is experienced in substance abuse review any non-negative result obtained from confirmatory testing.
The MRO will review the laboratory results and contact the donor as required to determine if there is a prescription medication or other reason that would account for the non-negative quantitative result.
The MRO will then issue a final "POSITIVE" or "NEGATIVE" result based upon the established procedures.
Results are available via a secure / encrypted INTERNET application, and/or fax, etc.
